Privacy Policy
Effective 14 August 2026 · Last updated 14 August 2026
Forgotten Archive is an independent archival publishing project. This website does not use analytics, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, user accounts or contact forms.
1. Who we are
Forgotten Archive researches and publishes historical and nostalgic material. This policy covers forgottenarchive.ai and the private publishing tools used by Forgotten Archive to manage its own social-media accounts.
2. Information this website collects
This is a static information page. Forgotten Archive does not intentionally collect personal information from visitors through this website. The hosting provider may process limited technical logs—such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and timestamp—for security, reliability and delivery of the site.
3. Pinterest integration
Forgotten Archive uses the Pinterest API to publish and manage Pins on the project’s own Pinterest business account. The integration may process:
- Pinterest account and board identifiers;
- OAuth access and refresh tokens;
- Pin titles, descriptions, links, media and publication results; and
- limited diagnostic information needed to prevent duplicate posts and investigate failed publications.
This information is used only to authenticate the project’s account, publish approved archive material, maintain publication records and keep the integration secure. Forgotten Archive does not request Pinterest passwords and does not sell Pinterest data.
4. Other publishing services
The same private workflow may connect to services such as Reddit, Tumblr, Bluesky and Mastodon. Those services process information under their own privacy policies. Forgotten Archive sends only the content and account credentials required to perform an approved publishing action.
5. Storage, sharing and retention
Access tokens and other credentials are stored privately and are not placed on this public website. Publication metadata is retained for as long as it is needed to operate the archive, avoid duplicate publishing, maintain an accurate record and meet security or legal obligations.
Information is not sold or rented. It may be shared only with the relevant platform and infrastructure providers, when required to operate the service, protect the project, comply with law or respond to a valid legal request.
6. Security
Forgotten Archive uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including restricted credentials, encrypted connections and limited access. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your choices and rights
You may ask what personal information Forgotten Archive holds about you, request correction or deletion where applicable, or object to certain processing. Platform permissions can also be withdrawn through the connected platform account. Requests will be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection law.
8. Children
This website and the private publishing integration are not directed at children and do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
This page may be updated when the project, its publishing integrations or legal requirements change. The revision date above will show when the policy was last updated.
